Sorvagsvatn – Lake over the ocean
Sorvagsvatn Lake, located on the largest island of the archipelago Faroe – Waqar this place is remarkable in that its water comes close to the ocean, as if hovering over him. During the Second World War the British Army built the airfield and seaplane station on the lake. The first aircraft landed at RAF Sorvagsvatne in 1941.
